In Loving Memory of Marlyn Gabo-Larmond

Sturgeon Falls, Ontario It is with deep sorrow and profound heartbreak that I announce the passing of Marlyn Gabo-Larmond, who left us peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed on surrounded by love, wrapped in the warmth of her family, and held closely in our hearts.

Marlyn was a woman of incredible strength, unwavering grace, and boundless love. A long-time resident of Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, she was more than a familiar face in the community—she was a beacon of kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. Those who knew her knew that she led with compassion, spoke with intention, and loved without conditions.

Throughout her life, Marlyn touched countless lives—whether through her warm smile, her thoughtful advice, or her ability to make you feel seen and heard. She had a way of making everyone feel at home, a gift that came so naturally to her. Her presence brought calm to chaos, and her laughter brought light to even the darkest moments.

As a mother, she was nothing short of extraordinary. Her love was fierce, steady, and endless. She taught us how to stand tall, love fully, and face life with courage and grace. Even during her illness, she remained a source of strength for us all—never complaining, always hopeful, and forever loving.

The pain of her absence is immeasurable, but so is the gratitude we feel for having had her in our lives. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and generosity that will live on in each of us who were lucky enough to know her.

Funeral and memorial arrangements will be shared in the coming days. We ask for your patience as we prepare to honour her life in a way that reflects the beauty of her spirit.

If you ever met Marlyn—whether as a friend, a neighbour, a colleague, or even in passing—I would be so grateful if you could share a memory, a story, or even just a few words about how she touched your life. These memories are precious gifts that help keep her spirit alive.

Please hold us in your hearts during this time of deep mourning. And if you are able, please take a moment today to hug your mother tightly, or reach out to someone you love. Life is fleeting, and love is the most enduring thing we can give one another.

Rest in eternal peace, Mom. You were the heart of our world.
You will forever be missed, and always remembered
