Family, friends, and colleagues will come together this Saturday, May 3, 2025, to honor and remember the life of Matthew Gillum, a beloved husband, father, and respected member of the Central Texas community who passed away unexpectedly.
Matthew, fondly known as Matt by many, was the devoted husband of Vanessa Mannella Gillum, the Processing Manager for SecurityNational Mortgage Company – Lonestar Region. His sudden passing has left a deep void in the lives of all who knew and loved him. Meal train—In this difficult time, we’re organizing a meal train to support her and the children with meals, so they can focus on grieving and healing together.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. (Central Time) at Providence Funeral Home, located at 807 Carlos G Parker Blvd NW, Taylor, TX 76574. The funeral service will immediately follow from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the same location.
Following the service, interment will take place at Taylor City Cemetery, located on East 4th Street in Taylor, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Friends and loved ones are also invited to a reception in Circleville after the interment to continue honoring Matt’s memory and supporting the Gillum and Mannella families during this incredibly difficult time.
Described as a “super nice family man”, Matt was known for his kindness, his warm spirit, and his passion for team roping. He touched many lives through his quiet generosity and steady presence. Those who knew him say he was one of the kindest people you could meet—always ready with a smile and willing to lend a hand.
The entire community is encouraged to show their support by attending the services or sending flowers and condolences to the family. In this time of sorrow, the family asks for continued prayers, especially for Vanessa and all those navigating life without Matt.
