The Hillsdale community is mourning the tragic and untimely loss of Braxtyn Lee Jurgovan, who passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the age of 30 following a fatal motorcycle accident. Born on July 15, 1994, in Coldwater, Michigan, Braxtyn was a vibrant presence whose warmth and compassion touched the lives of many.
Braxtyn was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Aurora and Freya, who were the center of her world. Her love and dedication to her children were evident in every aspect of her life, and she worked tirelessly to provide them with a nurturing and joyful environment.
She is survived by her parents, Marcy Alaniz (Carlisle) of Hillsdale and Benjamin Alaniz of Florida; her brother, Austin Alaniz of Waynesville, Missouri; and her close friends, Brynnae, Bryar, and Brayleigh Butts of Hillsdale. Braxtyn was predeceased by her grandmother, Roberta Dietrich.
Braxtyn’s sudden passing has left a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and the broader Hillsdale community. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for those around her will be deeply missed.
A visitation to honor Braxtyn’s life will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hillsdale Assembly of God Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family, c/o VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home.
As we remember Braxtyn, we celebrate the love she shared, the joy she brought into our lives, and the lasting impact she made on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her daughters, family, and friends.
