Known for his infectious energy and passion for life, Blake will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Blake, fondly called “June Bug” by his close friends, was born on June 8, 1997, to Ray Heflin and Pat Shields Roper. He was a son, a brother, a friend, and a loving family member whose presence left a lasting impact on all who encountered him. His life was defined by his love for adventure, family, and the many friends he cherished. He was a true embodiment of a young man full of life, joy, and compassion, whose passing has left a void that will never be filled.

Blake’s love for life was reflected in his hobbies and passions. He enjoyed riding four-wheelers, a pastime that allowed him to enjoy the great outdoors and feel the wind in his hair. Blake was also an avid hunter, spending countless hours in the woods with his family and friends. Whether in the forest or on a trail, Blake’s zest for adventure was evident in every activity he took on. These simple joys brought him much happiness, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.

Blake graduated from Hatton High School in 2016, where he was known for his friendly and easygoing nature. He built lasting relationships with his classmates and teachers, making a positive impact wherever he went. After graduating, Blake worked at Jack Daniel’s Cooperage in Trinity, where he continued to exemplify his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. His colleagues and peers admired him not just for his skills at work but for the kindness and authenticity he brought to every aspect of his life.

Blake was a family man at heart, always prioritizing his family and friends. He is survived by his loving mother, Pat (Buddy) Roper, and father, Ray Heflin. Blake shared a strong bond with his three brothers: Taylor Heflin, Caleb Roper, and Travis “Skeeter” Heflin, with whom he shared countless memories. Blake’s relationships with his family were built on a foundation of love, trust, and mutual respect, and he will always be remembered for the joy he brought to those closest to him.

Blake’s grandmother, Luree Shields, was another important figure in his life. She was a source of love and support, and their bond was one that meant the world to him. Along with his parents and siblings, Blake leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom will carry on his memory in their hearts.

As we remember Blake, we also acknowledge the tremendous impact he had on his friends and the wider community. His friends, family, and coworkers all remember Blake for his generous spirit, easy laugh, and contagious enthusiasm. He made those around him feel seen and valued, and his sense of humor could always bring a smile to anyone’s face. It’s said that the brightest lights in the room are often those that shine the most, and Blake was undoubtedly a light in the lives of those who knew him.

Sadly, Blake was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bobby Shields, and his paternal grandparents, Alton Heflin Sr. and Edith Heflin. Their memories will be carried forward through the lives of those they left behind, including Blake, whose legacy of love and warmth will continue to live on through his family and friends.

Blake’s passing is not only a personal loss but a loss to the entire community. In a world that can often feel chaotic and overwhelming, people like Blake remind us of the importance of family, friendships, and cherishing the moments that make life so meaningful.
