Kirk Medas ‘Floribama Shore’ Miami, FL Obituary, Cause of Death; Kirk Medas of ‘Floribama Shore’ Beloved Reality TV Personality Dies at 33 After ICU Battle

Kirk Medas, beloved reality TV personality known for his time on MTV’s Floribama Shore, has died at the age of 33. His passing comes after a two-week battle in the intensive care unit of a Miami hospital, where he had been placed on a ventilator due to complications from necrotizing pancreatitis and sepsis.

Medas’ death has left a deep void in the hearts of his loved ones, castmates, and fans, many of whom followed his journey from reality TV to his recent health struggles with deep concern and unwavering support.

His co-star and close friend, Aimee Hall, confirmed the heartbreaking news with a moving tribute on social media.

“We lost our brother, our best friend, our heart – Kirk,” Hall wrote in a Facebook post. “I was at the beach when I felt it. Before the call even came, a dolphin kept coming up to me, as if to say goodbye. Kirk and I shared a love for dolphins and the ocean, and in that moment, I just knew.”

Her words offered a glimpse into the emotional toll of watching a friend fight for his life. She described the final moments before Medas was placed on a ventilator, sharing that he cried when she told him she loved him — a moment that will stay with her forever.

“I find peace in knowing he’s no longer in pain. He’s in heaven now—free, whole, and making everyone laugh the way only he could,” she continued. “Kirk had the kindest soul, a heart full of love for everyone he met, and a spirit that brought people together. He truly was the glue that held us all close.”

Kirk Medas first captured viewers’ attention with his wit, loyalty, and vibrant energy as part of the original Floribama Shore cast, which debuted in 2017. His easygoing nature and quick sense of humor made him a fan favorite, and beyond the show, he was often praised for his grounded presence and deep friendships.

Behind the scenes, Medas was more than a television personality. Friends described him as someone who exuded warmth and generosity — a man who made people feel like they belonged, whether they were castmates, fans, or strangers.

His former co-star Nilsa Prowant was also by his side throughout his hospitalization. Hall noted that Prowant had been “flying back and forth to Miami” to spend time with Medas and support his family.

As news of his passing spread, fans flooded social media with tributes and condolences. On X (formerly Twitter), one user wrote, “This one hurts. Kirk, you will be forever missed by the Floribama Shore fans.” Another posted, “I can’t believe Kirk from Floribama Shore died… I always heard he was a really cool dude and fun to film with. Definitely will pray for the cast and his family.”

Medas had been fighting necrotizing pancreatitis — a rare and severe condition that causes parts of the pancreas to die — and sepsis, a life-threatening reaction to infection that can lead to organ failure. According to Cedars-Sinai, both conditions are critical and require immediate intensive care, often involving prolonged hospital stays and, as in Medas’ case, the use of life-support equipment.

In the final weeks of his life, a GoFundMe page was created by Medas’ mother to help with mounting medical costs, as he reportedly did not have health insurance. The campaign was supported by friends and fans alike, underscoring the love and concern that surrounded him.

While the Floribama Shore family mourns, Hall’s message has brought a degree of solace to those struggling to understand the loss.

“The world feels a little dimmer without him,” she wrote. “But I know I’ll see my best friend again someday.”

Medas’ legacy is one of laughter, connection, and kindness — a reminder that beyond the cameras, reality stars are very real people who touch the lives of many.

As fans remember him not just for his on-screen moments but for the warmth he carried in his everyday life, Kirk Medas leaves behind a community united in grief, gratitude, and love for the man he was.
