With heavy hearts, we mourn the tragic and untimely passing of Angela Yajahira Cortes Villegas, age 20, of Utah, who was found deceased on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Angela was discovered in a wooded area near Crest Lawn Memorial Park in the 2000 block of Marietta Boulevard NW, after Atlanta police responded to reports of an unresponsive person. She had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Angela’s life was taken far too soon in an act of violence that has left her family, friends, and community devastated. Known for her unique spirit, striking presence, and deep capacity for love, Angela had her whole future ahead of her. She leaves behind loved ones who will forever remember her laughter, her strength, and the light she brought into their lives.
As her loved ones seek answers and justice, they also remember Angela for who she truly was — not defined by her death, but by the life she lived and the hearts she touched.
Funeral arrangements will be shared at a later time. We ask for privacy and continued prayers for Angela’s family during this unimaginably difficult time.
